Ceramic worktop maintenance

Ceramics is a material made of 100% natural components! This makes it highly appreciated in modern home design. The worktop is manufactured from ceramic slab treated at a high temperature. It is cut in a suitable size, after which its edges and surface are finished to the highest standard.

Ceramic worktops are scratch resistant, heat resistant and non-absorbent. These worktops are easy to clean and preserve their beauty for decades when properly maintained. For these reasons, ceramics is particularly suitable for homes with small children and pets.

Daily cleaning

For daily cleaning we recommend using damp (microfiber) cloth, warm water and either neutral (pH 7), mild alkaline (pH 8-10) or mild acidic (pH 4-6) detergent, if necessary. You should avoid using highly acidic or detergents containing bleach when cleaning a ceramics worktop.

Preventing and removing stains

Avoid spilling chemicals and corrosive substances on the worktop. The best way to avoid staining is to remove any dirt from the worktop immediately. In this way does not dry and absorb in the material. Usually it is sufficient to use a damp cloth, water and detergent.

In case of heavy staining, we recommend using special care and cleaning products designed for ceramic surfaces. After using the cleaning product, we recommend to wash the worktop again with clean water and detergent.

Avoiding heat damage and scratches

Ceramic worktops are heat resistant – hot ovenware does not cause discoloration or damage to the surface.

Although ceramic material is highly scratch resistant, we still recommend using cutting boards. You should also avoid dropping extremely heavy objects and mechanical impact on the worktop.

Long-term maintenance

Ceramic worktops do not require impregnation (i.e. treatment with special sealant), since they do not absorb liquids.
